Robert E. Sherwood (1896-1955) was born in New Rochelle, NY. During World War II, he was the chief of the overseas branch of the Office of War Information (1942-44). In 1939 he was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his play, `Abe Lincoln in Illinois`; `The Petrified Forest` is among his other well-known dramas. In 1949 he received the Pulitzer Prize for biography for `Roosevelt and Hopkins.` 作者简介
